Fourth Division is responsible for ：

　●Analysis of organic items in water quality, wastes, soils, toxic chemicals, environmental hygiene chemicals and biotic samples.

　●The development and setting up for the standard analytical methods of organic items.

　●Establishment of testing capability for dioxin, dioxin-like and PBDEs, compounds

　●Provision of advanced technological and testing support for the EPA's policy making and enforcement concerning dioxin and dioxin-like compounds from various environmental matrices

Major Tasks ：

　●Analysis of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds in samples. The Revise or setting up of the relevant analysis methods for pollutants in wastes, soils, sediments and so on and the execution of these analysis.

　●The Revise or setting up of the relevant analysis methods for the key components and other matrices in toxic chemicals and environmental hygiene chemicals and the execution of these analysis.

　●The execution of the project for the installation of fingerprint database of potential pollution sources.

　●Establishment of methods for determining trace dioxin-like chemicals in environmental samples

　●Analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans in stack emission samples from incinerators

　●Analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans in Soil

　●Analysis of PCDDs/PCDFs, dioxin-like PCBs and PBDEs in fish samples from Taiwan Rivers

　●Determinations of levels of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins, dibenzofurans and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in sediments from rivers in Taiwan
